Create a digital signature field

The signature field lets you add an empty digital signature form field to a document. When a signer clicks on the field, a dialog opens and prompts them to certify or digitally sign the file with their digital ID.

To create a new digital signature form field:

  1. On the Forms tab, in the Fields group, click Digital Signature

  2. On a page of the PDF document, click and drag a rectangle to define the size position of the signature

  3. Do one of the following:

  • In the Properties context tab, enter a Name for the field, and specify other properties, such as appearance and actions

  • Right-click the signature field, and select Properties. In the Signature Properties dialog, enter a Name for the field, and specify other properties, such as appearance and actions

To edit a digital signature form field:

  1. Open the PDF file in Nitro Professional 7

  2. On the Forms tab, in the Fields group, do one of the following:

    • Click the field type that corresponds to the field you want to edit

    • Click Edit All Fields

  3. Click on the signature field, and do one of the following:

    • In the Properties context tab, edit properties of the signature field

    • Right-click the signature field, and select Properties. In the Signature Properties dialog, edit properties of the signature field
